Slim Jim, Cinnabon To Enter Into Holy Meat-Trimony

Slimabon is officially happening.

Meat stick brand Slim Jim proposed to the cinnamon roll mall staple Cinnabon last Thursday on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “A thousand times yes,” Cinnabon responded, and now the two brands are scheduled to be married on Sept. 15 at 4:20 p.m. on the platform where they met. No RSVP required.

Slim Jim is among the brands that have built a following on Twitter based on its irreverent -- some might say unhinged -- approach to social media, including posts repeating the number “69” and the word “MEAT.” Slim Jim’s account on the platform has been hinting at the activation all summer, with repeated posts that it “has a girlfriend,” at times acknowledging in replies that its sweetheart is indeed Cinnabon.

The connection between the two non-human corporate entities dates back to 2022, when Cinnabon responded to a “National Girlfriend Day” tweet and fans of both brands suggested the two should date, while sparking the fan-created “Slimabon” name for the couple. Since then, the two brands have periodically engaged in related exchanges on social media, including a Valentine’s Day promotion by Slim Jim in collaboration with agency 180 New York.

As for the upcoming “marriage” this Friday, and what constitutes holy meat-trimony, a brand collaboration seems likely. Given how universally unappetizing a beef-injected Cinnabon would be, the good money would appear to be on a Cinnabon-flavor infused Slim Jim.

With the big day on the horizon, the brands are asking fans for input. Slim Jim fans interested in participating can help plan the wedding by completing a survey asking about everything from cutlery to floral arrangements, to honeymoon plans. Participants will be rewarded with an opportunity to be one of the randomly selected contributors to receive a “wedding favor” from the happy couple, including co-branded merchandise, Slim Jims, a Cinnabon gift card, and a recipe card.
