Disney Explores The Power Of Wishes In Holiday Campaign

Holiday traditions may look different around the world, but we all share a wish to celebrate the holidays with loved ones. As Disney celebrates its 100th anniversary, on Wednesday it launched a holiday campaign focusing on the power of wishes titled "May Your Wishes Come True."

Grammy Award-winning Nigerian-British director Meji Alabi felt lucky to have collaborated with the diverse group of people on Disney’s holiday campaign. “There were so many stand-out moments for me during the filming, but I think the most memorable was watching the South African kids' choir sing their lines,” he said.

The 90-second clip starts in a holiday setting with the song “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes.” It comes from "Cinderella," but was rearranged to enable multiple performers to have a united voice.

Academy Award-winning actress and singer Ariana DeBose sings the opening lines in the English version. Voice actresses in markets around the world sing it in other languages.

With the theme taken from the iconic Disneyland ride "It’s A Small World," the video features scenes representing six geographical locations and languages.

It tells the stories of families and friends from around the world, who are united by a universal wish to be together with their loved ones during the holidays, recognizing a range of festive traditions.

Ridley Scott Associates produced the ad, and developed it in collaboration with the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products internal advertising agency Yellow Shoes.

The ad will run across Disney-owned digital channels in EMEA, U.S., LATAM, and APAC and select Disney-owned linear platforms in the U.S.

With a new product collection inspired by its new animated film "Wish," Disney continues to support the Make-A-Wish foundation.

For each sale of an item from this Wish film collection, Disney will donate 10% of the sales price -- up to $1 million -- to Make-A-Wish.

The donation only applies to sales at U.S. Disney stores, shopDisney.com, Disney Cruise Line ships, and Disney-owned locations at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.
