Kind Partners To Help Address Food Insecurity For World Kindness Day

:

Nov. 13 was World Kindness Day. Unsurprisingly, given the word is part of the brand’s identity, Kind Snacks made sure to commemorate the occasion – doing so by giving back in support of an urgent cause.

"Kindness is in our DNA,” Kind CMO Osher Hoberman said in a statement, adding that the brand “embraced the opportunity” to celebrate World Kindness Day “by focusing on nourishing our communities."

The brand teamed up with new and existing partners to support communities addressing food insecurity. Kind Snacks expanded on its existing partnership with New York-based nonprofit Wellfare, donating $20,000 to support the group’s effort to reach a new location with its Better Box program,  a monthly subscription program providing nutritious packaged groceries to low-income families. Previously available in Bushwick and East Harlem, Welfare expanded its reach to the Lower East Side.

Additionally, Kind teamed up with Little Words Project -- a brand selling  bracelets that provide “wearable affirmations” -- to release a Live Kind bracelet available from both brands’ websites. The brands will donate $10,000 to support FoodCorps, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping schools provide students with nourishing meals, food education, and culturally affirming food experiences. The bracelets will also be available at Little Words Project stores, and the first 100 visitors to its flagship New York store on Bleecker St. received complimentary bracelets.

“Little Words Project was built on the premise that one kind word can make an impact,”   Adriana Carrig, CEO & Founder of Little Words Project said in a statement, adding that “Kind passionately shares this vision,” and that the partnership was designed to “further our mission of paying kindness forward, through community, connection, and of course, bracelets.”

Kind employees also dedicated their time to causes in honor of World Kindness Day, volunteering for organizations including Ellen Meadows Prosthetic Hand Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, conservation organization Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef, Minority Veterans of America, Lower East Side Girls Club, and Project Linus – an organization that gifts new, handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill, trauma survivors, or those otherwise in need.
