'Law & Order' Star Drinks Up For Mine Hill

Apparently Elliot Stabler also likes his bourbon in real life as well.

Mine Hill Distillery has tapped Christopher Meloni, the “Law and Order: Organized Crime” star for its latest campaign for its hand-crafted bourbon and gin.

The landmark distillery and craft spirit maker, known for its small-batch liquors in Roxbury, Connecticut, has created its first TV and social effort in two humorous spots staring Meloni.

In the bourbon spot, the viewer sees  Meloni walking through the visually stunning Mine Hill Distillery, asking the viewer to name the first state that come to mind when thinking of bourbon. The obvious answer is Kentucky, but he responds with “Connecticut.”  “Sure, Kentucky is a close second," he continues, extolling the virtues of Mine Hill, which he can drink only in Connecticut.

“The brand is poised for national growth," said owner Zachary Karabell, who purchased the distillery last year with investors. "Our spirits are a unique blend of old Connecticut and new, and while the state may not yet be known as a hub of craft distilleries, we hope this campaign --and, of course, the spirits themselves -- energize people to try what we have to offer."

A second execution touts the beauty of Connecticut, and not much else besides the creation of the hamburger, the spice nutmeg and the Frisbee. Besides Mill Hill’s gin of course -- also only available in Connecticut.

The new effort was produced by The Strand Creative Group in New York.
