'Inside Out 2' Bangs Out Another $100M In Week 2

Making a bit of history, Walt Disney/Pixar's "Inside Out 2" posted another eye-popping $100 million in domestic box-office revenue, joining a group of seven movies to earn $100 million or more in their first and second weekend of release.

The six other movies include "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Avengers: Endgame," "Avengers: Infinity War," "Black Panther," "Jurassic World," "The Avengers." 

“Inside Out 2” also became the first animated movie ever to post $100 million or more in its second week of release.

The big hit movie is also well on its way to gross over $1 billion overall globally. In two weeks of release so far, it has totaled $724 million ($355.2 million domestically and $369.2 million internationally), according to Comscore.

The third week of Sony Pictures' "Bad Boys: Ride Or Die" took in $18.8 million, totaling $146.9 million domestically and $289.1 million globally.

Other notables include Sony Pictures' "The Garfield Movie" in its fifth week, coming in at $85.1 million domestically and $230.6 million globally and 20th Century Studios’ "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" at $164.4 million domestically and $385.2 million globally.

Looking at an analysis of the last 14 days of national TV ad-spending for movies yet to be released for the summer moviegoing period, Universal Pictures' “Despicable Me 4” debuted July 3), with an ad spend of $8.5 million, while Warner Bros.' “Horizon: An American Saga,” debuted June 28, with $5.6 million ad spend and Paramount Pictures’ “A Quiet Place: Day One” debuted on June 28, with $5.4 million ad spend, according to EDO Ad EnGage.

Opening next month will be Walt Disney’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” (opening July 26, at $4.2 million), Universal’s “Twisters” (July 19, with $3.4 million) and Sony’s “Fly Me To The Moon” (July 12, with $2.3 million) and Searchlight Pictures’ “Kinds of Kindness” (July 3, with $2.0 million).
