The Olympic Games in Paris will begin Friday July 26 and there’s an
expectation that this year’s competition will resume the kind of pre-COVID “normalcy” and excitement that we expect from the quadrennial event.
“This year’s
upcoming Games, both physically and from a marketing perspective, feel “back on track,” after the COVID issues that challenged the games in Tokyo and Beijing,” stated Omnicom’s
Dallas-based marketing agency TMA in an Olympics pre-brief, adding, “Fans are eager for a return to form.”

Advertisers appear excited, with NBCUniversal projecting another
record for Olympic sales, or more than the $1.25 billion achieved at the Tokyo games.
As for the most marketable individual athletes at this year's competition, TMA proclaims that “women
rule.”
