Burt's Bees began with lip balm, but grew to include various skin
and body-care products.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Tavern, the company's branding agency, is introducing Camp Burt’s '84 summer merch collection, a limited-edition line that
touts the brand's eco-commitment and partnership with Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument.
Burt's Bee's is promoting a sweepstakes on Instagram, where users can win pieces from the new
collection.
The outdoor apparel and accessories line, available on the Burt Bee's site, pays tribute to the brand's dedication to
sustainability. Burt Shavitz and Roxanne Quimby founded the company in 1984.
Throughout the 1990s, Quimby used profits to buy and protect vast tracts of land threatened by logging. For every
case of balm sold, an acre of land was purchased and saved. By 2016, she accumulated more than 87,500 acres, which was donated to establish Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument.
