SetSet is set to launch Aug. 8 as what it is calling the first online community for psychedelic drug users. The site, found at getsetset.com, is currently in beta mode and accepting users via a waitlist, Founder/Chief Executive Officer April Pride tells Marketing Daily
SetSet says it has partnered with medical professionals and licensed therapists on the platform, which encourages safe microdosing of such drugs as MDMA, Ketamine, LSD, and Psilocybin, “helping everyday people leverage the benefits of psychedelics in an accessible way.”
The company reports that over a quarter of Americans have taken psychedelic substances, “but 75% of them take it outside of a clinical setting without access to medical guidance. While the legalization of psychedelics continues to evolve, the exponential increase in consumers taking psychedelics for self-healing without proper medical oversight poses a significant risk for both patient and provider.”
SetSet, which says it plans to have 10,000 individuals and healthcare providers on board during its first year, will offer annual memberships for $99, which the platform says represents substantial savings from $300/hour and up for a non-licensed integration coach, causing most people before now “to turn to unsubstantiated online sources such as Reddit posts, increasing the public risk of long-term negative psychological implications.”
Instead, the platform says, “individuals can connect with licensed therapists and medical providers to get the support of experts who can assist them with the proper setting, contraindications, dosage, and after-care. In addition, consumers can connect with others who have gone through psychedelic experiences in a safe space to share best practices and learnings.”
And how does SetSet plan to get to that 10,000 members by next August?
Pride, an entrepreneur who has previously been associated with cannabis companies, says she’s getting word out via “media features [such as a Forbes article] , through our partners who write psychedelic-focused newsletters, through our top ranked podcast on YouTube, through our highly engaged email subscriber list of over 20,000 psychedelic enthusiasts, and also through my speaking engagements at various conferences.”
