Earlier this month, the hit FX TV series "Shogun" made TV history by winning a record 18 Emmys in its first season.
What went largely unreported was that a Dentsu employee — Kei Kawamura — also made Emmy history by becoming the first Japanese person to win a casting award for a TV drama.

Kawamura is a casting director at Dentsu Casting & Entertainment and was in charge of proposing and coordinating Japanese actors for the series.
Her efforts paid off as a number Japanese actors in the program won top awards including Hiroyuki Sanada (Lead Actor), Anna Sawai (Lead Actress), and Tadanobu Asano and Takehiro Hira (Supporting Actors), among others.
