Forget the hot chocolate this holiday season. How about chocolate coffee liqueur with a boozy whipped topping? Yes please!

Coffee liqueur Kahlúa has drifted into the cream liqueur category with the launch of Chocolate Sips, its newest sweet offering. The limited edition Chocolate Sips are available nationwide this holiday season in Smooth Chocolate, a blend of Kahlúa Rum & Coffee Liqueur with real cocoa, and White Chocolate, which combines Kahlúa and real cream.

To promote the launch, the brand has teamed up with superstar rapper Cardi B and her new whipped cream-esque offering. Whipshots, co-founded by Cardi B herself, are vodka-infused nondairy whipped shots that do not require refrigeration, and are available in Pumpkin, Mocha, Carmel, Vanilla, Strawberry and lime flavors. A limited edition Peppermint option is available for the holiday season.

Beginning earlier this month, the two brands have been sold and displayed in retailers together, along with recipes to create various cocktails with both brands, including the Mocha-tini, Nutty Surprise, Cardi Cane and Gingerbread Delight.

For example, the Mocha-tini contains one part Kahlúa Chocolate Sips Smooth Chocolate Flavor and one dollop of Mocha Whipshots, garnished with milk chocolate shavings and a fudge rim. The Cardi Cane is one part Kahlúa Chocolate Sips Smooth or White Chocolate Flavor with one dollop Peppermint Whipshots, garnished with candy cane pieces.

“Kahlúa Chocolate Sips is a first of its kind offering from the brand and encourages fans to stir up their traditional cocktail experience, while the innovative product line and flavors from Cardi B’s Whipshots created the perfect opportunity to stir up signature serves,” Saragh Killeen, Kahlúa brand director told Marketing Daily via email. “Together, we’re crafting a sip-worthy experience that’s all about indulgence and simplicity.”

Killeen went on to say the collab will be promoted through in-store signage, along with social media efforts from both brands and more recipe content on Instagram @Kahlúa.
