Presearch Takeover Advertising (PTA), an ad service from the meta-search engine focused on privacy, has attracted well-known brands such as NordVPN.
“We’ve been running the takeover ads about once or twice monthly since the launch of PTA, just over a year,” said Jonas Kuprešenkovas, senior partnerships manager at Nord Security.
He wanted to work with a privacy-focused search engine running on blockchain to run ads for NordVPN and other products. The two companies have been working together for more than a year.
Each time an ad runs on the network, Kuprešenkovas sees a positive return on investment, mostly because the engine’s audience wants privacy when searching.
“It’s less traditional than other platforms, which is why these promotions work so well,” he said.

Presearch Takeover Advertising runs in about 20 to 30 different languages.
Kuprešenkovas does advertise on other networks through online media partnerships with outlets like Vice, CNN and PC Mag and other technology magazines, but the company has a special relationship with Presearch because of its focus on privacy.
Presearch, which launched in 2017, offers an AI chatbot that summarizes results for those who hold more than 1,000 tokens -- a reward system that users can earn for using and promoting the platform. PRE tokens can be traded on various markets.
The infrastructure on the backend is decentralized, which provides a way to keep searches private.
Queries are processed on the back end through a series of nodes that are spread around the world run by the community on their computers or virtual servers. About 50,000 nodes have been operating for more than four years.
Nord Security uses the Presearch Takeover Advertising units, but it does not use the new service the search engine launched Wednesday.
Presearch today expanded its Takeover Advertising service and launched a search product based on confidential, ethical and privacy — a free “Spicy” not safe for work (NSFW) adult search service.
The company introduced it at AVN InterNext Las Vegas, a B2B tech conference for the adult online entertainment industry.
The offer introduces a safe space for adult products, services, and creators to connect with audiences on a privacy-focused engine.
Lovense, Stripchat, OnlyFinder, Subseeker, Creatr.uk, and OnlyTraffic are launch partners in the new offering.
Toggling the chili-pepper icon in the Presearch search bar and confirming they are the legal age of consent, users can select the NSFW “after hours” search experience with adult-oriented registered wallpaper style takeover ads that rotate in the background.
The feature is intended to maintain privacy for services and information from OnlyFans creators, cam models, dating platforms, adult toys and sexual wellness products. A dedicated OnlyFans creator search feature, unavailable directly on the OnlyFans platform, is integrated.
The focus is on upholding Presearch’s commitment to anonymity and ethical advertising by providing a non-judgmental, non-profiling, tracker-free space for adult-focused brands to promote their offerings free from any stigma or the restrictive policies that are commonly found.
