Keurig Dr Pepper is launching a host of flavors this year across its cold beverage portfolio -- including several the company claims are permanent additions.
Brands include Dr Pepper and 7UP carbonated soft drink brands, Snapple iced tea/juice drinks brand, and Bai hydration beverages.
In a release announcing the news, KDP noted the success of its flavor innovations in 2024, including the “viral popularity of Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut” -- which it called its most successful limited-time offering to date, along with Canada Dry Fruit Splash Cherry --which was the top-performing carbonated soft drink flavor innovation of the year, according to Circana data cited by KDP.
“Our experts, from flavor scientists to trend spotters, have crafted a dynamic lineup across soft drinks, waters, teas and juices that will offer consumers nationwide even more choice through new fruit flavors, modern twists on familiar favorites and zero sugar options,” Eric Gorli, president, U.S. refreshment beverages at KDP, said in a release.

Dr Pepper Blackberry launches today nationally as an official permanent addition to the Dr Pepper flavor roster, including in a zero sugar variety, The company described the flavor as “combining the original 23 flavors of Dr Pepper with the rich sweetness of blackberry flavor,” while citing Circana data showing that consumer interest in blackberry-flavored carbonated soft drinks was growing at twice the rate of category growth by dollar sales. On its Instagram page, Dr Pepper introduced the new addition in a post as its “most one-of-a-kind flavor ever.”
KDP is also adding a permanent flavor to build out the number two lemon-lime soda brand, as rated by Circana. 7UP Tropical combines the brand's citrus flavors with “tropical flavors of mango and peach,” and launches this month in regular and zero sugar iterations. Last year limited-edition 7UP Shirley Temple flavor was “a hit on social media,” KDP CEO Tim Cofer noted in a Q3 2024 earnings call.
Next month, Snapple will launch a permanent flavor based on its top-selling iced tea flavor by dollar sales (per Circana), introducing the Peach Tea & Lemonade flavor across a variety of pack sizes nationally.
Hydration beverage brand Bai will also add a duo of new flavor varieties this month which the brand says are permanent -- both incorporating “the most hydrating berry,” according to USDA FoodData Central. Both Bai Simbu Strawberry and Bai Shala Coconut Strawberry are sweetened with plant-based stevia and lean into functional beverage claims.
KDP also teased an upcoming limited release for root beer brand A&W: A&W Ice Cream Sundae, combining vanilla ice cream and fudge flavors, and available at retailers nationally in August.
KDP also alluded to plans to release “a variety of retailer exclusive and regional offerings throughout the year” for soft brands including Crush, Sunkist, and Mott’s.
If recent decisions made by competitors are any indication, consumers may want to take KDP's positioning of the new flavors as "permanent" with a grain of salt. Coca-Cola discontinued Coca-Cola Spiced last year, just seven months after introducing the "permanent" flavor. And last month, PepsiCo revealed it was discontinuing Pepsi Mango -- first introduced as a "permanent" flavor in 2021.
