Brunner Acquires Rakuten's Performance Solutions, Strengthens Client Portfolio


Integrated marketing agency Brunner has acquired Rakuten Advertising’s Performance Solutions group. It includes paid search and programmatic planning and buying teams.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Dan Gbur, partner-chief revenue officer at Brunner, told Agency Daily the acquisition was “a strategic move aimed at securing top-tier talent, expanding our account management team across the country, and strengthening our client portfolio in industries, such as retail/ecommerce, travel and hospitality, and lead generation."

“This acquisition also establishes an ongoing partnership with Rakuten Advertising Division to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions for shared clients and to fuel new business opportunities. Together, we’re creating a collaborative environment that feels like home for innovation and growth,” he added.

Brunner can also extend affiliate marketing options to all clients via Rakuten’s platform.

The deal adds 21 new employees, bringing Brunner’s total staff count to 150+.

Brunner’s broad client roster includes Aerie, Church’s Texas Chicken, Mitsubishi North America, The Home Depot Rental and WesBanco Bank.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Brunner has additional offices in Atlanta.
