Former Apple, DirecTV and Expedia marketing executive Jon Gieselman has joined Comcast Corp. in a new position as chief growth officer for the company's residential domestic businesses.
Gieselman
will head growth marketing and sales efforts for Comcast’s 'Connectivity & Platforms' unit, which extends to more than 64 million homes and businesses in the U.S.
One major task for
Gieselman will be to head up Xfinity brand strategy across connectivity, wireless and entertainment as well as sales, marketing, acquisition, retention and base management.
Over the past
12-month period (April 2024 - April 2025), the Xfinity brand for all its businesses -- including TV, internet and wireless -- spent $100.9 million in national TV advertising spend, according to EDO Ad
EnGage estimates.
This was up 83% over the previous 12-month period. Just over $40 million in advertising spend/value was placed by sister company the NBC Television Network.
Gieselman
will report to Steve Croney, COO of Comcast’s Connectivity & Platforms division.
Most recently, he was president of Expedia Brands leading all of Expedia consumer-facing businesses
around the world.
Before that Gieselman was vice president of marketing at Apple building subscribers for Apple Music, Apple TV+, App Store, Fitness+, News+, Arcade, and Apple Card. He also
served as senior vice president of marketing at DirecTV for ten years.
