Rockstar and PepsiCo Content Studio teamed up with Imagine Documentaries, and Andscape -– a leading Black content studio from Disney and ESPN -- to produce the documentary, entitled “Stewart 27.” Directed by Floyd Russ ("Untold," "American Manhunt"), the documentary follows the evolution of Stewart’s career, from facing high pressure early on to live up to his champion older brother James Stewart Jr, and trailblazing father James Stewart Sr., who mentored both brothers in the sport, to battling injuries and other setbacks on the way to stardom.
“Stewart 27” will debut exclusively on ESPN+ April 27. Rockstar Energy and Andscape released a trailer for the film April 16, and Rockstar followed up with an Instagram post promoting it.

"Malcolm Stewart's journey is one of grit, resilience, and determination,” said Rockstar Energy Senior Director of Marketing Sean Bonthuys. “These are qualities that not only inspire us at Rockstar Energy, but are the foundation of what our brand stands for."
The activation is the latest in a series of investments in Rockstar’s motorsports roster, and arrives on the heels of the brand adding Formula Drift driver Amanda Sorensen to its athlete roster this spring. Earlier this year, the brand also entered into a partnership with 18-year-old Formula One racing prodigy Lia Block. Outside of motorsports, the brand also added LPGA golfer Charley Hull to its roster back in January.
