In an early sign that the summer movie blockbuster season has arrived, Walt Disney/Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” pulled in a strong $76 billion in its opening weekend, according to IMDb Box Office Mojo.
National TV-media spending to date for the movie is at an average $18.6 million -- with 3,380 airings totaling 1.8 billion impressions, according to estimates from EDO Ad EnGage.
Top advertiser airings came all from Disney-owned networks: National Geographic Channel (395); Freeform (365); Disney XD (325); FX (283); FXX (265); National Geographic Wild (231); ESPN (191); and Disney Channel (183). The most estimated impressions were from ABC (199.4 million, 59 airings).
Warner Bros.' “Sinners” -- now in its third week -- continued to earn big box-office dollars -- well above expectations for its third week in release. It reached $33 million, falling just 28% from its second week.

The movie has grossed $179.7 million domestically, and $236.7 million globally.
Behind “Thunderbolts” this past week in box office results were Warner Bros.' “A Minecraft Movie” ($13.7 million); Amazon MGM’s “The Accountant 2” followed ($9.5 million).
From Paramount, the upcoming major release of “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning -- on May 23 -- shows a strong $14.3 million in TV spend so far, per EDO, while Warner Bros.' “Final Destination Bloodlines” is at $5.6 million (with a May 16 release) and Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” is at $4.4 million (with a May 23 release).
I am sure Disney would be elated if they took in $86 Billion this weekend.
