Kahlua Teams Up With Dunkin', Salma Hayek Pinault For 'Kahlunkin'

Salma Hayek Pinault is back in a humorous new effort for Kahlúa Dunkin’ Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur.

The Oscar-nominated actress stars in a campaign from Wieden + Kennedy London directed by Rodrigo Valdes. Seen here, the TV, streaming and online spot is styled after a classic Spanish novela, opening on a group of beautiful people lounging in a living room.

A hand comes into frame, pouring what appears to be a glass of Kahlúa, after which Hayek Pinault kicks down the front door, dramatically declaring the liquid is NOT Kahlúa. The hand pouring the liqueur is revealed to be someone dressed in a Dunkin' coffee cup costume, but the drink isn’t Dunkin’ either. Its “Kahlunkin'!” announces Hayek Pinault, revealing the drink is actually Kahlúa Dunkin' Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur.

"When we started working with the amazing Salma Hayek Pinault two years ago for our Stir Up campaign, it kicked off our vision to make Kahlúa the world's most dramatically playful spirits brand. With It's Kahlunkin', we're taking that energy up a notch — stirring up the cream liqueur category with a splash of drama and a whole lot of playfulness," says Craig van Niekerk, global vice president of marketing for Kahlúa in a press release. "Partnering with Dunkin' was a perfect match. The spot combines their iconic brand of humor with our telenovela-inspired, over-the-top spirit."

In addition to the ad, Kahlúa has partnered with NBCUniversal to promote the Kahlúa Dunkin' Caramel Swirl Cream Liqueur on Bravo’s  “Watch What Happens Live.” The brand will also hit the festival circuit, pouring the new liqueur at events such as the upcoming New York City Wine & Food Festival and ChainFest LA.

A one day pop-up event was held last week at New York City’s Grand Central Station that offered samples accompanied by Dunkin' Munchkin donut holes.
