Amazon Prime Video’s average
ad-supported monthly viewers jumped 58% over the past year and a half to 315 million, according to the company.
In April 2024, Amazon said it had an average monthly ad-supported
reach of 200 million viewers globally.
“We’re just beginning to see what's possible when premium entertainment, engaged viewers, and innovative ad-technology converge
with relevant and performant advertising at this unprecedented scale,” said Jeremy Helfand, vice president of Prime Video Advertising, at the company’s recent Unboxed event.
MoffettNathanson Research estimated the Amazon ad-supported Prime Video tier will exceed $2 billion in 2025.
Prime Video ad-supported reach comes from its
unduplicated average monthly active ad-supported audience across original and licensed series and films, live sports and events and free, ad-supported live channels on Prime Video, according to

Amazon says the reach estimate is based on Amazon internal data over the 12-month period from September 2024 to August 2025, with “some locale-specific time-frame
variations based on launch dates.”
Sports in particular has played a strong role in the increase -- especially with “Thursday Night Football” and now with its new
NBA contract deal.
Prime Video is now in 16 countries including the U.K., Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, The
Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the U.S.
By comparison, Netflix recently said its monthly ad-supported viewers amount to more than 190 million.
