Mojo Supermarket Showcases Momoa In Chime's 'New Day'

Jason Momoa, better known as Aquaman and Ronon Dex in “Stargate: Atlantis,” is back pitching for Chime’s fee-free banking and financial tools.

The new 30-second spot "New Day," created by Mojo Supermarket, debuted on Christmas during NBA games. It is now viewable across national TV, digital, social and streaming. Momoa plays various roles — bodega clerk, barista and a doorman — to promote the fintech company.

The work is a sequel to the brand's October ad, where the action star plays a mall cop and balding mattress salesman.

This latest commercial reiterates the campaign’s core message: modern banking should be simple and accessible. Momoa explains how Chime helps people move from outdated banking methods, such as long lines long lines and slow service, to relatable, present-day options.

Mojo's creative highlights Chime’s 1.5% cash back, high-yield savings and credit-building options.

“Jason brings a realness and warmth to these stories that perfectly captures what this campaign is all about,” said Vineet Mehra, Chief Growth Officer at Chime. “The old way of banking doesn’t reflect how people actually live today.”

Chime's revenue reached $1.67 billion in 2024 — up from $1.28 billion in 2023, according to the company's IPO.

The agency's commercial output includes Facebook, Rivian and Nordstrom.
