Lexus Partners With Gen Z Musician For Miles Davis Homage

Lexus has enlisted two-time Grammy-winning jazz-pop artist Laufey for a one-night-only musical event honoring Miles Davis.

"100 Miles" will stream live from Laufey’s new Twitch channel on March 27 at 9 p.m. ET.  The musical event will be brought to life in partnership with Amazon Ads Brand Innovation Lab, which will help extend the campaign, including to Amazon Music. 

The event marks Laufey’s debut performance on her Twitch channel. 

Designed as an immersive performance, the event will feature a blend of songs from her catalog alongside new material -- most notably, the premiere of Laufey’s newly reimagined rendition of the Miles Davis instrumental “Blue In Green,” with original lyrics by Laufey.

Lexus is also creating a "Blue In Green" edition RZ, a bespoke Lexus electric vehicle inspired by Davis’ composition, created for Laufey.

The EV echoes the themes of Lexus’ latest chapter of The Standard of Amazing campaign. “Blue In Green” underscores Lexus’ latest national broadcast commercial “Miles and Miles,” part of "The Standard of Amazing: Electricity at Its Finest" campaign that highlights Lexus’ electrified lineup.

Lexus debuted the campaign in January with four spots from Team One and IW Group.

“Our collaboration with Laufey is about celebrating jazz, inspiring creativity, and giving fans an unforgettable experience,” said Sara Lara, senior manager, Lexus marketing, in a release. “We’re blending heritage, artistry, and innovation, much like jazz itself.”
