Global Streaming To Rise 29% By 2030 To $200B: Analyst

Although many analysts see the business as maturing, global streaming subscription revenue in 2025 grew by double-digit percentages -- 14% -- to $157.1 billion, Ampere Analysis says.

Over the last six years, streaming subscriptions have tripled in revenue, from $63 billion in 2020.

The advertising research company predicts that in four years streaming will top $200 billion -- and will rise another 29% over that time period. The U.S. accounts for over 50% of that -- nearly $160 billion level.

Though growing -- up 28% -- global streaming advertising still is a small piece of the entire streaming ecosystem, around $20 billion. In four years (2030) with the projection of new advertising-streaming options and more inventory, Ampere Analysis estimates this will grow another $42 billion in annual revenue.

The biggest individual streaming platform is Netflix, which grew 16% in total subscription business last year to $45.2 billion from 2024.
