TikTok's U.S. venture has announced a
partnership with Cameo, the app known for delivering personalized celebrity video messages to fans. Together, both companies want to help creators connect with fans and directly monetize their social
media celebrity status.
Creators in the U.S. can now deliver Cameo videos to fans and sign up for the Cameo marketplace through a designated tab in the TikTok app.
Fans can also request personalized Cameo videos from creators’ existing content, bridging a gap between creators and their followers while also spotlighting creators’
evolving position in pop-culture.
To alert their fans, TikTok creators have the option to add a customized call-to-action button to their existing content, making
it easy for users to request a personalized video. Users are also able to search “Cameo” in the app to view the full library of available creators.

A consortium of
investors share a stake in the U.S. version of TikTok under the title “TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC.”
According to a statement from Cameo CEO
Steven Galanis, Cameo videos “regularly go viral on TikTok.”
Partnering with TikTok USDS is part of Cameo’s overall strategy to rebuild its
business following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought plummeting sales, ultimately wiping out 90% of the company’s value by March
2024.
Since then, Cameo has lowered the platform’s entry requirements, forgoing Hollywood celebrities
for a higher percentage of social media creators, generating a new wave of fan bookings and reinvigorating revenue intake.
Delving deeper into the creator economy via seamless in-feed call-to-action options marks Cameo’s current strategy for working back to its $1 billion valuation in
2021.
