Lovesick: Deutsch Creates Social Show For Dr Pepper's Creamy Coconut

Dr Pepper has been promising a Creamy Coconut beverage.

The social demand is intense. Since January, 5,000 social mentions and more than 6.3 million engagements, with 97% of the conversation calling for its return or urging Dr Pepper to make it a permanent item.

The company responded, with a caveat: Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut is only available through July 31. To ensure its fans get the message, Deutsch created the social mini-show  “It's a Pepper Fling.

The four episodes run on TikTok, IG Reels and YouTube, dropping at noon ET. The first episode hit May 15, the second May 22, the third May 29 and the fourth June 5.

The series transforms a seasonal flavor into a summer romance. The plot focuses on a can of Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut, which becomes a crazy love interest, mirroring the fandom surrounding the limited-time flavor.

Andrew Kong, SVP/creative director at Deutsch, told Agency Daily: “Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut is here for a good time, but also a limited time. To honor the fans who have been clamoring for its return and these next few delicious months of drama, fun and limited-time love, a four-part vertical microdrama seemed perfectly reasonable and honestly pretty necessary.”

The brand is owned by KDPOne.
