Droga5 Promotes Facebook As Marketplace, Community

Facebook is promoting its platform as a way to secure whatever a user needs.

The “Summer Jobs” creative by Droga5, directed by Smuggler’s Mark Molloy, is a case in point. A young woman finds her dream truck on Facebook Marketplace. To pay for it, she finds odd jobs on the platform. Her Facebook connections lead to new experiences, helping to secure her vehicle of choice.

“Summer Jobs" runs surrounding World Cup media (Fox and Tubi digital), OTT/CTV (Netflix, Peacock, Disney), YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

Other spots -- “Joyride,” “Garage Band” and “Book Club” -- underscore the various ways Facebook interactions helps people make things happen offline.

In addition, the agency is expanding the “Find More Than What You’re Looking For” campaign. Facebook is rolling out social assets that illustrate its options, from finding free furniture to side gigs.

The campaign comes on the heels of Facebook Marketplace’s 10th anniversary, noted in a Los Angeles pop-up July 23-25, as well as a series of Marketplace drops, such as more cars, to illustrate the platform's impact. As an ad follow-up, the social network is putting a truck akin to the one in the spot on Facebook Marketplace in a giveaway.

Amy Werblin and Erika Kohnen, Droga5 group creative directors, said: “Our campaign reintroduces Facebook as the place where you come with something specific in mind a car, a book club, a guitar but find the community that helps turn it into something bigger and more meaningful. We were drawn to the track Escape’ by Destroy Boys for the way it perfectly fuels the coming-of-age narrative, capturing the restless energy of youth and the drive to chase possibilities.”

Droga5 has also produced creative for Bosch, Coors Light and Paramount+.
