Honeywell and the National Hockey League have
entered into a multiyear global partnership.
The agreement makes Honeywell the Official Building Automation and Energy Management Partner of the NHL.
Honeywell will support the NHL’s efforts to modernize and create more energy-efficient arenas, practice facilities and community rinks across North America.
The moves include integrating safety, security, frictionless access and energy management to help safeguard fans, players and staff, while aiming to improve operational performance and
the overall game day experience.
The partnership also supports community rinks by helping them operate more efficiently and maintain secure, well-managed environments that
make hockey more accessible at the local level.

This is not a traditional marketing sponsorship but rather a technology-driven partnership focused on modernizing the
infrastructure.
Today’s arenas and rinks require systems that can keep pace with rising energy demands, evolving fan expectations and the need for seamless, always-on
operations, says Greg Turner, chief solutions engineering officer, Honeywell Building Automation.
“By integrating automation, energy management, safety and security solutions,
Honeywell can help create venues that are not only more efficient and resilient, but also better equipped to deliver a consistently great experience—from marquee NHL arenas to the community
rinks that are foundational to the future of the game,” Turner tells Marketing Daily.
The timing reflects broader momentum in the sport and the growing complexity of
venues. Hockey continues to see strong growth in both attendance and participation.
The partnership creates a foundation for long-term innovation. Honeywell and the NHL will
explore how advanced building automation, data-driven insights and integrated energy management can enable new concepts such as a “Rink of the Future.”
