Horizon's Blue Hour Studios Taps ATTN: To Bolster Leadership Ranks

Blue Hour Studios, the creator and content division of Horizon Media Holdings, has appointed Kristen King managing director and Daniel Carlsson as head of creative.

According to the company, the appointments reflect Blue Hour’s evolution from creator partnerships to a full-service social-first creative agency. Both executives will play roles in driving new business growth and evolving Blue Hour’s service offerings, including a focus on short-form video, creator-led marketing and real-time cultural engagement.

“The opportunity in social-first marketing has never been clearer, but most agencies are still operating with traditional content models retrofitted for platforms like TikTok and Instagram,” said Sarah Bachman, head of Blue Hour Studios. “Kristen and Daniel understand how to design creative organizations for how people actually engage today: fast, culturally fluent, and platform-native from the start.”

King’s role is new. She will oversee Blue Hour’s strategy, client partnerships, and operational transformation, focusing on scaling the agency’s capabilities across strategy, influencer marketing, and creator-led content.

Both hires join from ATTN: where King served most recently as chief experience officer after joining as executive vice president-managing director in 2023. She helped shift ATTN: from a social media publisher into a scaled, social-first creative agency, driving revenue growth of 80% in 2023 and 50% in 2024.

In his new role, Carlsson will oversee creative strategy, content production, and talent partnerships as well as platform trends, cultural movements, and emerging content formats.

At ATTN: he served as executive creative director and helped reshape creative operations.
