Ranch dressing has become the
unofficial "souvenir" of the World Cup.
International tourists visiting the U.S. have developed an obsession with the condiment. This craze forced the TSA to issue public warnings
reminding fans not to pack bottles in their carry-ons.
“After European fans visiting the U.S. for the FIFA World Cup started going viral for their ranch dressing discoveries,
the agency issued a very specific reminder: full-size bottles of the condiment do not belong in carry-on bags,” according to Yahoo
Creators. “In a viral Instagram post, TSA joked that ‘One World. One Ranch.’ may be the real tournament slogan, while reminding travelers that ranch still counts as a sauce or
dip under the agency's 3.4-ounce carry-on liquid rule. The agency also leaned fully into the joke, writing, ‘Please avoid chugging your ranch outside security. The airlines will check it for
you.’”

A standard bottle of ranch is 16 ounces while the TSA mandates that liquids in carry-on bags need to be 3.4 ounces or less.
“Yeah sooo
your carry-on wasn’t actually made for *checks notes* 4 bottles of ranch …” the TSA said in a post on Instagram last
week.
Apparently ranch isn’t a thing overseas.
“Ranch dressing, a sauce made from mainly buttermilk, vegetable oil and spices, is getting love
from tourists experiencing American food and culture for the first time,” according to CNN Sports.
“‘Ranch dressing should be a human right,’ wrote one
Redditor, who identified as a European tourist, in a thread about World Cup visitors’ feedback on the country.”
Ranch has long been the most popular salad dressing
in the U.S., according to the Association for Dressings and Sauces. It’s popular as a dip for veggies, chicken wings or pizza.
“Adapting on the fly, hubs like the
Philadelphia International Airport started selling TSA-compliant 8-ounce bottles of Hidden Valley Ranch at shops located post-security so fans could safely take the condiment home,” according to NBC10 Philadelphia.
Houston and other airports are selling full-sized bottles post-security.
“After TSA's post poking fun at tourists traveling with ranch dressing, Paradies Lagardère, which operates airport retailers, announced that some shops in Dallas Fort Worth
International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport would also be
carrying full-size Hidden Valley ranch bottles for a limited time,” according to Chron.
