Lagunitas Brewing Company’s latest summer
promo is going to the dogs, literally.
In honor of August’s National Dog Month, the Northern California IPA has launched the “Dog Days of Summer” contest. The promotion will
award one dog and their owner an “adventure fund” for their trip, a curated outdoor adventure gear package, a professional photo session and a donation to the San Francisco SPCA in the
winning dog's name.
The contest was inspired by a recent U.K. study that revealed more than 50% of pet owners say they “travel less after getting a pet.”
“Whether it's a road trip, a beach day or learning to catch their very first wave, we wanted to create a reason for one lucky dog and their human to experience the Dog Days of summer
together,” said Hannah Dray, CMO at Lagunitas Brewing Company. “Creating good times has always been at the heart of Lagunitas, and some of the best ones happen adventuring with your
favorite people… and pups.”

To enter, consumers must send a pic or video of themselves and their dog to www.LagunitasDogDays.com,
along with a “short write-up telling us where they'd love to adventure with their pup and why.” The deadline is Aug. 15, with a winner announced on National Dog Day on Aug. 26.
The
beer brand, which is also the official title sponsor of the World Dog Surfing Championships, kicked off this year’s competition on Aug. 1 in Pacifica, California with the Salty Paws Surf Camp,
which tapped experienced surfing instructors to teach dogs how to surf.
