Following the FBI’s recommendation not to charge Hillary Clinton over her handling of State Department email, the House Oversight Committee has asked FBI chief Comey to answer questions about the investigation. Attorney General Loretta Lynch will also head to Congress next Tuesday to answer questions about Clinton's email issue, as well as her brief get together with former President Bill Clinton.
  • Trump Fundraising Skyrockets In June
Questions about Trump’s fundraising prowess have now been muted, as he raked in a hefty $52 million in June between his campaign and two joint fundraising committees. Some $20 million of that goes directly to his campaign, and the remaining $32 million to the RNC. The campaign claimed that $19.9 million was raised over email for his campaign. The Republican nominee had raised a measly $3.1 for his campaign in May.
  • Sanders Booed By House Democrats
After not directly answering questions about when he would publicly endorse Hillary Clinton’s candidacy, Bernie Sanders was booed by House Democrats at a closed-door session on Wednesday. Frustration with Sanders over his continuous jabs at Clinton and the DNC, even though his campaign is clearly out of the race, has risen to new heights. One Congressperson described his appearance at the meeting as a “total display of self-obsession.”
  • President Obama Hits The Campaign Trail With Hillary Clinton
President Obama appeared with Hillary Clinton yesterday on the campaign trail for the first time. The pair spoke in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the President said: “We may have gone toe-to-toe, from coast to coast, but we stood shoulder-to-shoulder for the ideals that we share.” Later adding: “My faith in Hillary Clinton has always been rewarded.” We can expect many more appearances from the President campaigning for the Democratic nominee.
  • GOP Foreign Policy Leaders Desert Trump For Clinton
As probably the strongest NeverTrump block, GOP foreign policy elites are turning their backs on the Republican nominee and some are even saying they will support Hillary Clinton. These include former Bush and Reagan officials. For example, former Reagan staffer Kenneth Adelman announced that he will vote for Clinton in November and “will vote against any Republican who endorses Trump.”
  • Trump Expresses Praise For Saddam Hussein As "Good" At Killing Terrorists
At a campaign stop on Tuesday evening, Donald Trump spoke of Saddam Hussein. He made headlines when he began praising the former Iraqi leader’s treatment of terrorists. After calling him a “really bad guy,” Trump went on to explain what he did well: “He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn’t read them rights. They didn’t talk. They were terrorists. It was over.”
  • FBI Recommends No Indictment For Clinton In Email Probe
The long-awaited FBI decision on Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as Secretary of State has arrived. The recommendation is no indictment. FBI Director Comey told reporters that while there was no evidence of violated laws, “there is information that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”
  • Libertarian Candidate Gary Johnson Says Trump "Clearly" Racist
Speaking on CNN’s ‘State of the Union,’ Libertarian candidate for president Gary Johnson has come out strong against Donald Trump’s rhetoric. When asked to address Trump’s racially insensitive comments, Johnson explained: “Based on his statements, clearly. I mean, if statements are being made, is that not reflective?” For Johnson, at about 8% in national pools, calling Trump racist ratchets up campaign rhetoric. On "Rachel Maddow" last month, Hillary Clinton charged that Trump's comments about Judge Curiel were racist and bigoted.
  • Clinton Holds 5-Point Lead Over Trump
A recent USA Today/Suffolk University poll shows Clinton with a slight 5-point lead over Trump, 45.6% to 40.4%. Also interesting in the polling is the high level of alarm felt by respondents. Some 61% of respondents feel alarmed about the election, with 23% saying they are excited. A small 9% find themselves bored with the election.
  • Clinton Spends $500,000 Daily On TV Ads, Trump Spends $0

The cities where Clinton is airing the most ads are Orlando, Denver and Raleigh. From June 15-27, Clinton spent roughly $6 million to air 9,781 spots, about half a million dollars a day. Over a similar period, Trump aired exactly 0 TV ads.
