The National Basketball League and Marvel Entertainment are collaborating on a licensing deal comprising co-branded merchandise with NBA team logos and Marvel Super Heroes.
The line will
include apparel and accessories, with artwork featuring the likes of Spider-Man, Iron Man and Captain America dressed in NBA team colors and logos.
The collection will first launch with headwear
and apparel, including T-shirts and sweatshirts by C-Life, headwear by New Era, and later sporting goods and novelty items.
Modell's and Madison Square Garden will launch the New York collection
and the Staples Center will be the first destination for L.A. Lakers co-branded merchandise to debut at the NBA All-Star game on Feb. 20 this year. The NBA will then roll the products out nationally
at regional sporting goods retailers, specialty stores, additional NBA arena stores, and mid-tier channels' sports apparel departments.
"The NBA is filled with highlights as amazing as the feats
of Marvel's storied characters," said Vicky Picca, SVP Licensing and Business Affairs, NBA Global Merchandising, in a company statement.
