The True Value Of Search

park cityWhat future signals can marketers expect to see to better understand the context of searches and deliver the correct types of results? These future signals in the context of a consumer search can help deliver information to serve up better results across all platforms. Marketers will start to see location and proximity, as well as the speed of someone traveling in a car, to determine search results. There are more than a dozen signals incorporated into mobile, compared with desktop search.

As chairperson of the Search Insider Summit, I invite you to participate in planning similar topics as future signals in mobile search for the December Search Insider Summit in Deer Valley, Park City, Utah. The programming committee -- IgnitionOne President Roger Barnette, Covario CEO Russ Mann, Rimm Kaufman CEO George Michie, and DataPop sales and marketing head Frank Lee -- along with the advisory board, worked hard to develop a theme -- "The True Value of Search" -- for the December 2011 event in Deer Valley, Park City, Utah. Now it's time to complete the agenda.

While some of the sessions have been determined, we would like your help in identifying two keynotes, along with a handful of interactive 40-minute panels and 15- to-20-minute individual sessions. The mini sessions are intended to provide a forum where thought leaders can present concise viewpoints on some of the more challenging topics related to search.

Economics and analytics, the psychology behind creative and strategy, and integration of search with other ad media like mobile and social will become topics for discussion during the three-day event. This event, known for its think-tank environment, highlights topics that bring together marketers, agencies and service providers to brainstorm new ideas and share those already working.

I invite you to submit abstracts that speak to these themes. For those who have never attended a Search Insider Summit, this Fall Summit at Park City, Utah could become a tradition for you. The Deer Valley Search Insider Summit is two months away. The deadline for submission is Monday, Oct. 24.
