AARP is kicking off new original programming for its recently redesigned YouTube channel. The organization has rolled out a finance and
health/beauty series this month. Entertainment, travel, and technology content will follow.
“Ageless Beauty with Lois Joy Johnson”
launched this week with scheduled programs on topics such as “How to Look Great in a Photo” and “How to Look Fabulous at Your Reunion.” AARP’s focus
shifts to saving money with its second series debuting Jan. 15, “The Cheap Life with Jeff Yeager”.
AARP says it launched
its YouTube destination last year to streamline the user experience across all of its platforms and better organizes the more than 2,000 videos available for site visitors.
The organization
says its reach through Twitter, Facebook and YouTube exceeded 1 billion accounts in the first ten months of 2012 (a 678% increase over the same period in 2011). The organization’s website
www.aarp.org is also up 42% year over year in unique visitors and recorded over 1.2 million registrations in 2012.
