Pool Joins MARC USA In New Role At The Agency

Pittsburgh-based ad shop MARC USA has tapped Scott Pool for the role of vice president, director of national broadcast, a new position at the agency.

Pool joins MARC from the Chicago Office of Omnicom Group’s GSD&M where he handled media buying duties for clients such as BMW, MasterCard, LeapFrog, L.L. Bean, U.S. Air Force, Chili’s and others.

Agency veteran Pool joins MARC after a series of recent new business wins by the agency including Payless Shoes, MAVTV among others. Last year it defended and retained the Pennsylvania Lottery assignment.

At GSD&M, which Pool joined in 1999, he’s credited with matching up client BMW with AMC’s hit show Mad Men for the network’s first category exclusivity deal. He also orchestrated product integration deals between BMW and Anthony Bourdain; Chili’s and Turner NBA; food service products distributor Sysco and Restaurant Impossible on the Food Network, and LeapFrog and the Hallmark Original Movie.

“Our media offering is a tremendous point of differentiation in the marketplace,” stated MARC CEO Michele Fabrizi. She cited Pool’s “deep experience in leveraging media to align client brands with relevant content.”

Prior to joining GSD&M, Pool worked in media at CPM, Ogilvy & Mather and Laurence, Charles, Free & Lawson.

In addition to Pittsburgh, MARC has offices in Chicago and Miami, with a total of 200 employees and more than $320 million in annual billings. Other clients include Rite Aid, True Value and Cooper Tire.
