Mass Appeal is linking with Maker Studios Network to unveil a new channel featuring selections from Mass Appeal’s original video content, Mass Appeal said today.
Mass Appeal’s content includes “Watch X Witness, a photo documentary series; “Rhythm Roulette”, a music culture series; “On The Grind,” a skateboarding series; “Time Pieces”, short films with rising stars today’s icons and the comedic “Off Tha’ Wall.”
The company, which began as a graffiti zine, said it will collaborate with Maker to develop branded programs for advertising partners, produce behind-the-scenes music videos, and new, integrated content.
YouTube network Maker Studios recently completed another round of funding, raising $26 million, for a total of $70 million since it went looking for more investors.
It also recently acquired Blip.tv and Blip’s technology for distributing to multiple platforms.
Maker, while a major YouTube network whose channels get four billion views a month, is reportedly working on its own Web and apps presence.
Adweek reported earlier that Maker would soon announce the launch of Maker Made, an in-house unit for new or growing video makers that would also act as an advertising agency.
