NBCUniversal TV advertising business is restructuring around four areas -- all in an effort to give advertisers “scale” that gets tougher to come by.
NBC’s TV ad sales division now will be organized around four content areas: entertainment, live programming, lifestyle and digital video.
Heading up these areas with executive vice
president titles include: Dan Lovinger, Seth Winter, Laura Molen, Scott Schiller, Alison Tarrant and John Shea. All will oversee advertising sales activities for the NBC broadcast network, 17 cable
networks and more than 50 digital properties.
NBC says all will have expanded roles within each of the new four content areas and sales marketing.
Trish Frohman will have the
title of executive vice president of strategy and operations. She will be assisting Linda Yaccarino, president of advertising Sales for NBCUniversal. All newly appointed executives will report to
Yaccarino.
“In a world of growing fragmentation, as scale has become more and more elusive, we’ve clustered our networks to capitalize on the strength of our assets,”
states Yaccarino.
For “entertainment,” Dan Lovinger has been promoted to executive vice president of ad sales for the entertainment group. Lovinger now will have oversight
for NBC broadcast entertainment, USA Network, Syfy and WWE.
In the “live programming” area, Seth Winter has been promoted to executive vice president of the ad sales news and
sports group. A longtime sports ad sales executive, Winter will add the NBCUniversal News Group.
Laura Molen will head up the “lifestyle” area, promoted to executive vice
president of the ad sales for lifestyle group, overseeing Bravo, Oxygen, E!, Esquire, Cloo and Chiller.
Scott Schiller will expand his duties now executive vice president of digital ad
sales, overseeing NBCUniversal News Group’s digital ad sales on an interim basis and NBC’s digital entertainment ad sales.
NBC will also create a client solutions group.
Alison Tarrant will be executive vice president of the client solutions group, now overseeing all sales marketing for NBCUniversal’s networks and properties. NBC says the new sales
marketing team group creates a singular place for clients to access marketing and sponsorship capabilities.
John Shea will continue as chief marketing officer, now leading the new content
innovation and creative marketing team. Shea’s group will work in partnership with the Client Solutions Group
