Paul
Caine has been named global chief revenue officer for Bloomberg Media Group, with responsibilities spanning Bloomberg’s entire media organization around the world, including Web, mobile, TV,
digital video, radio, print magazines and live events.
Bloomberg Media Group CEO Justin Smith announced Caine’s appointment as CRO Monday morning. The appointment is effective June
2.
In his new role, Caine will oversee all Bloomberg Media’s ad sales and marketing efforts domestically and internationally. He will also be responsible for developing new revenue models and opportunities in new markets in line with Bloomberg’s new consumer media strategy, outlined by Smith earlier this year.
Caine previously served as CEO of WestwoodOne, the
country’s largest distributor of syndicated radio programming, which he joined in March 2013 and left in January of this year, after helping negotiate the sale of the company (previously known
as Dial Global) to Cumulus Media.
Prior to his stint in the top spot at WestwoodOne, Caine spent 23 years with Time Inc., rising through a number of executive positions to become executive
vice president, chief revenue officer and group president, a post he held from 2011-2013.

Smith stated that Caine “will be instrumental in our efforts to build a portfolio of digitally led, multiplatform brands for global business decision-makers around the world. Bloomberg's global scale presents our advertising partners with opportunities that no other media company in the world can offer, and Paul will be leading this effort across all of our media platforms.”
Caine’s appointment comes as Bloomberg Media moves to expand its content offerings, expand its
reach and boost engagement with its global audiences.
In May, the company launched Bloomberg Politics, a multiplatform political news hub. The new division will distribute content
including news, analysis, commentary, narrative, polling and data analytics, via channels eventually including Web, mobile, television, digital video, print magazines and radio, as well as live
events.
Bloomberg Politics is the first in a series of planned news brands to be produced by Bloomberg Media and Bloomberg News, focusing on specific content areas and providing in-depth
coverage across a range of consumer media platforms.
Most of the new brands will cater to the global business market and draw content from all of Bloomberg's news bureaus.
