BPN's Liz Ross Tapped For New CMO Role At IPG Mediabrands

Liz Ross, North American president of Interpublic media shop BPN, has been appointed global CMO of IPG Mediabrands, the holding company’s media management arm. The position is new.

In a memo to staff announcing the appointment IPG Mediabrands, CEO Matt Seiler wrote that Ross would continue in her role at BPN at least for now. In the memo Seiler also disclosed a second senior promotion — that of Jennifer Hohman to EVP, Global Head of Account Management, IPG Mediabrands.

In her new role, Ross is tasked with “further defining the mission and vision of our network through clear articulation of the products, services and client solutions that differentiate us from our competitors” Seiler stated. “She will work closely with me, and the rest of the global leadership team, as well as the corporate communications and the business development teams to help identify and spark new client conversations.”

Seiler credited Ross with helping deliver significant growth at BPN, which has reeled in important new clients including Hillshire Farms and Morgan Stanley under her watch.

In her global account role, Hohman is tasked with driving “all account management practices and processes globally. Jen, alongside both global Brand and Cluster leadership, will identify opportunities to strengthen and grow key client relationships, define and drive best practice in proactive account management, and contribute to the evolution of our product/service offering across major clients,” per the Seiler memo.

Hohman has worked as EVP managing partner at IPG Mediabrands, and Seiler credited her with being “instrumental in some of the networks’ largest client wins.” Those wins include BMW, Chrysler, ExxonMobil, Nationwide and Hershey’s.

The new appointments are the latest in a series of management changes at IPG Mediabrands and the agencies it oversees. Earlier this week, Nathan Brown, head of UM’s New York office, departed for PHD to become U.S. CEO. Last month Kasha Cacy was named U.S. CEO at UM, replacing Sarah Personette who returned to Facebook.

Earlier this year Jacki Kelley, CEO for North America and president of global clients for Mediabrands, departed for Bloomberg. In addition, Mediabrands COO Guy Beach shifted to a new role at the company and was replaced by Chris Loll, who joined from WPP’s Wunderman. BPN Global CEO Mauricio Sabogal and Kristi Argyilan, President, Magna Global North America, also left for new roles outside the company.
