Dentsu
Aegis Network has appointed Abbey Klaassen to the role of director, corporate development & strategy, Americas -- a new position at the agency. She will report to Nigel Morris, CEO, Dentsu Aegis
Network Americas & EMEA.
Klaassen will be responsible for developing the shop’s organizational strategy and operating model across the Americas, and will help shape the
network’s acquisition strategy and core capabilities in the region. She is also tasked with continuously assessing the business landscape and identifying new strategic opportunities, the agency
said.
Klaassen joins Dentsu Aegis Network after nearly 10 years with Advertising Age, where she was most recently Associate Publisher, Editorial and Audience. She’s the third
recent Ad Age Editor to jump to a position within Adland. Her predecessor Jonah Bloom is now a Co-President at the New York office of KBS+P, an MDC Partners agency. Bloom’s predecessor Scott
Donaton is now Global Chief Content Officer at Interpublic’s UM.
“Abbey, as a person and an appointment, is totally in line with our mission to innovate the way brands are
built,” said Morris. “She has a real insight into the evolving convergent marketplace and the tools and capabilities that businesses will need in order to be successful in the
future.”
Advertising Age said that Simon Dumenco has been named Editorial Director in charge of all editorial strategy and operations for its brands, including Ad Age, Creativity
and Internet Week.
