Search In Google InBox Takes Backseat To Snooze

Snooze, a one-tap option to mark any email with a date or time, such as event reminders or confirmations, eliminates the need to search through thousands of emails in Google InBox by Gmail.

Digital tickets for a concert, hotel or flight confirmations will show up at the top of the inbox when it's time to check in. The Snooze feature in Inbox works with package tracking updates, restaurant reservations, calendar invites, flight confirmations, hotel reservations and rental car reservations, according to Google.

The tool speaks to a trend by Google and Bing to automate the push of content to users, rather than have the user physically search for something in email services, apps, or engines. The next phase of organic search focuses on automating repetitive tasks.

Some might consider the process programmatic, except that Snooze won't buy media. But it does automate the task of serving content in the user's email system, eliminating the search function in this particular instance.

Automation in tools like BrightEdge, Marin Software, Kenshoo and other platforms has helped search engine optimization professionals, as well as paid search ad buyers identify relevant keywords and terms.

There are tools to analyze a Web site's internal links, and Google automates bid management with tools, as well.
