Brooklyn-based branding and content creation agency The Baiocco And Maldari Connection has been appointed AOR by pharma company Akorn Consumer Health, following a competitive review.
This marks the latest in a string of healthcare-related wins garnered by the agency, coming on the heels of its most recent win, Aptus Health.
According to its most recent annual report, Akorn spent nearly $10 million on advertising and promotion last year and had about $985 million in revenue.
The agency is tasked with creative, digital and media duties for Akorn Consumer Health’s suite of national over-the-counter brands including TheraTears, Sinus Buster, Zostrix and Mag-Ox.
“Akorn is a company of strong challenger brands, and we wanted a challenger agency,” said Scott Chapman, SVP, General Manager, Akorn Consumer Health. “We chose The BAM Connection because they’ve helped transform a multitude of brands in the OTC space, plus they have the creative chops to break out from it. No one else had that unique combination of experience and creativity.”
