OMD Names Doug Rozen Chief Digital And Innovation Officer

OMD US, part of Omnicom Media Group, has named Doug Rozen as its new Chief Digital and Innovation Officer, overseeing all digital activities as well as media innovation unit Ignition Factory, Airwave (mobile), Word (social) and Zero Code (gaming/VR).

Rozen joins OMD following four years as Chief Innovation Officer and SVP/General Manager at Meredith’s digital and content agency MXM. He replaces Ben Winkler, who was recently named Chief Investment officer at the agency.

“The Chief Digital and Innovation Officer is the alchemist who combines technology, data and creativity to produce insights, ideas and results for our clients,” said OMD CEO Monica Karo. “Having spent the last two decades charting the emerging technologies course for top consumer, publishing and agency brands, Doug is uniquely qualified for this role.”

At MXM, Rozen oversaw an 125-person emerging media offering, working with a client roster that included  Sony, Kraft, Bayer, Church & Dwight, Johnson & johnson, Kia, Chrysler, SeaWorld and GSK. Prior to joining Meredith in 2012, Rozen was SVP, Global Lead – Communications, Design & Emerging Technologies at Aimia (formerly Carlson Marketing). There he developed and oversaw the global loyalty provider’s agency services for clients such as Visa, AT&T, Chase, GM, Hallmark, Delta, P&G, Coke, JetBlue and Ford.

Earlier Rozen was Senior Partner and Managing Director at WPP’s J. Walter Thompson where he established JWT’s first digital offering and then combined JWT’s digital, direct and data offerings to form connect@jwt.

“As channel and content proliferation create confusion, agencies have a unique opportunity to forge the path to clarity,” says Rozen.
