Turner, Snapchat Expand Content/Advertising Partnership

Media companies Turner and Snapchat are expanding their existing partnership for new content creation, distribution and advertising model, targeted to Millennials.

Turner will develop original shows with Snapchat from its TV series and brands, such as TBS, Adult Swim, truTV, Great Big Story and Super Deluxe. Turner says it reaches more than 75% of Millennials each month.

The deal will expand Turner’s efforts on Snapchat’s digital Discover Channels, which include content from CNN and Turner’s digital sports content platform, "Bleacher Report."

David Levy, president of Turner, stated that the deal will “provide complementary viewing experiences for a younger, mobile-centric audience.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal will also expand Turner content on Snapchat Live Stories area with sports content, including the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and the PGA Championship.

Turner and Snapchat will work together on ad sales, developing advertising experiences within original shows and Live Stories. In addition, they will provide sponsors with creative advertising opportunities on Snapchat Discover Channels.

Turner says it has a collective 694 million followers across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Vine.
