OmniVirt, Jaunt Partner To Extend VR Ad Campaign Reach

Virtual reality (VR) and video ad platform OmniVirt and 360 advertising startup Jaunt are partnering to help brands advertising on VR content find stronger return on investment.

Jaunt has been developing hardware for VR video, with over $100 million raised from the likes of Disney, Beatles legend Paul McCartney and China Media Capital.

Together with OmniVirt’s experience serving immersive VR ads for companies including Toyota, Samsung, and Universal Pictures, Jaunt hopes to “extend the reach of its client’s campaigns” by accessing OmniVirt’s premium inventory.

"Marketers are excited by VR, but to make it work, they need great content and distribution of that content,” Brad Phaisan, CEO and founder of OmniVirt, told Real-Time Daily via email. “This partnership will enable that."

"Our aim is to be the preferred programmatic 360°VR partner for brands and publishers" and help build a VR advertising ecosystem, continued Phaisan.

I think we're going to enter a phase soon where VR companies start to consolidate like crazy. You may see the likes of Samsung or Apple acquire Jaunt. Facebook will invest in Immersve, VirtualSky and other top VR ad companies and innovators. OmniVirt will go to Disney or some other major entertainment company. It's just the start but watch closely this year and next as the creme of the crop of companies in VR mentioned above start getting acquired by the biggest names in technology, entertainment, and social media.
