Omnicom Media Group, which includes OMD, PHD and Hearts & Science, is taking a different approach to the upfront this year.
Instead of just making the rounds of the annual dog and pony shows put on by the media companies, it has summoned key media companies for three days of presentations at the Omnicom offices in New York this week.
The goal is to provide a “holistic look” at the 2018-19 investment marketplace, which continues to add more channels and platforms.
OMG believes its new approach will better enable its buyers, planners and clients to glean innovation and opportunities across all categories, a rep for the company said.
The meetings are being livestreamed for invitees that can’t make it in person to the event.
On Wednesday meetings were held with Google, Meredith, Studio71, Hulu, AMC, Disney, Crackle and A&E. Today the company will hear from Scripps Networks, Discovery NBCU, Fullscreen, FB, Univision, Fox. Tomorrow’s presenters include Viacom, Turner, CW, CondeNast, AMC, CBS.
