Omnicom's First M&A Move In The Management/IT Consulting Space

Omnicom has acquired Credera, which the holding company said today is its first acquisition in the management and IT consulting space.

The purchase was made via the Omnicom Precision Marketing Group (OPMG), the digital and CRM specialist unit expanded last fall with the addition of Luke Taylor as CEO. It includes agencies Javelin, Organic, Proximity, RAPP and Targetbase.

Taylor was previously CEO at Publicis Groupe’s DigitasLBi.

Credera’s core focus is martech and ecommerce platforms designed to help clients increase customer engagement and sales.

Clients include Southwest Airlines, National Geographic, EmployBridge, NRG, HomeAdvisor among others. The firm, with more than 300 employees, is headquartered in Dallas with offices in Denver and Houston.

“Credera works directly with the C Suite to help companies transform their business for the digital age,” stated Taylor. “We welcome them to the Omnicom family.”

Credera’s CEO and Chairman, Rob Borrego, will continue at the helm of the company. He noted that the sale provides the company with a global footprint and access to resources that should accelerate growth.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
