The social movie ticketing platform Atom Tickets has added Amazon Alexa voice ordering for movie ticket purchasing.

Consumers with an Alexa-enabled device can ask Alexa what new movies are playing near them and buy tickets using their voice.

The Atom Alexa skill is integrated with Amazon Pay, so customers can pay through their Amazon account. After a voice purchase, Atom sends the consumer an email with the digital movie tickets, which can be scanned from their phones at the theater.

"Our goal is to help merchants and brands provide seamless commerce experiences," stated Patrick Gauthier, vice president, Amazon Pay.

The app from Atom Tickets, which is backed by Disney, Twentieth Century Fox, Lionsgate and Fidelity, is available for both iOS and Android devices.
