Softbank Starting $108B Fund For Artificial Intelligence

Softbank Group Corp. is starting a new fund to invest in artificial intelligence companies.

Investors in Softbank Vision Fund 2 include Apple, Microsoft and Foxconn Technology.

The fund is expected to raise $108 billion, with Softbank contributing $38 billion of that.

The stated objective of the fund is “to facilitate the continued acceleration of the AI revolution through investment in market-leading, tech-enabled growth companies.”

The first Softbank Vision Fund raised close to $100 billion.
