Advantage Smollan, a joint holding company between Advantage Solutions and Global Smollan Holdings, has acquired a majority stake in WorkShop International, a Nordic retail agency.

The purchase extends Advantage Smollan’s geographical reach and capabilities, states Laurence Clube, chief operating officer of Advantage Smollan. 

WorkShop’s leaders will remain active in the business, including CEO Payman Hazheer, founder Kristofer Wanselius and founding partner Christian Appel.

WorkShop has sought to “excel with service offerings throughout Europe,” states Appel.

Advantage Solutions recently shuttered one of its U.S. acquisitions, Take 5 Media Group, over that firm’s alleged misreporting of email results to clients.

Advantage Solutions decided to “immediately and permanently shut down the Take 5 Media Group business, and refund clients for campaigns run since we acquired the assets of the business,” the firm said in an email to Take 5 customers.
