Q&A With Hyundai Motor America CMO Angela Zepeda

Angela Zepeda, CMO at Hyundai Motor America, will give a keynote speech on the automaker's response to the pandemic and how it is getting back to business at our Marketing:Automotive event taking place Aug. 11 and 12. We caught up with her last week.

Q. What is the most important idea you hope attendees will take away from your presentation?

A: No matter the size of your brand, being an agile marketer is more important than ever. How quickly you can adapt your plans for current events and cultural moments is how brands can separate themselves and connect better with consumers.

Q. What's next on your personal or professional agenda?

A: We are on a mission in the U.S. to continue improving Hyundai’s brand perception and reputation. We are a leader in design, technology, safety and the owner experience, and we want car buyers to be more aware of everything Hyundai has to offer.

Q. Which marketing challenge keeps you up at night?

A: The pace of change in consumer behavior and figuring out the right platforms and channels to effectively reach them is a big challenge that keeps marketers like myself up at night. We need to continually refine our approach with relevant content and messages that resonate with consumers and create action.
