Gmail service went down overnight as part of a larger Google outage involving YouTube, Google Docs and other services. But it apparently was restored as of Thursday morning.
The reports to downdetector peaked around 2 a.m., then flattened out.
“working again in USA, Florida,” writes one user on downdetector.
“Seems solved,” writes another.
Reports have also come in stating that service is back up in Indonesia, Dubai and Hungary.
At 7:10 a.m., Google posted a statement, saying: “The problem with Gmail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.”
The complaints about Gmail concerned attachments (59%), log-in (23%) and receive messages (16%), according to downdetector.
One Google user wrote, “Gmail attachments and mailbox syncing (Android and Gmail site) have been down for about 4 hours. Also Hangouts works only for text. Photos and voicemail will not work in Hangouts.”
